HOW TO VOTE
The election will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. Polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and eligible voters will need a valid ID to cast a ballot.
Polling locations can be found on the Iowa Secretary of State’s website. Additional local election information is available through your county auditor's office
If you are not registered to vote, you can complete a registration form and return it to your county auditor’s office before October 21. You may also register on election day at your polling location.
Registered voters may request a mailed absentee ballot ahead of election day through their county auditor’s office. The first day voters could request a mailed absentee ballot is August 27. Ballots will be mailed starting October 16.
To receive a mailed absentee ballot, complete a request form and return it to your county auditor’s office. The deadline to request a mailed ballot is October 21. Ballots must be received by the auditor’s office before polls close at 8:00 p.m. on election day to be considered for counting.
In-person absentee voting will be available starting on October 16 at your county auditor’s office. This will be available weekdays until November 4 during regular business hours at:

Henry County Auditor's Office, located in the Henry County Court House, 100 E. Washington St., in Mount Pleasant.

Jefferson County Auditor's Office, located on the main floor of the Jefferson County Courthouse, 51 W Briggs Ave., in Fairfield.

Van Buren County Auditor's Office, located at 406 Dodge St., in Keosauqua.

Wapello County Auditor's Office, located in the Wapello County Courthouse, 101 W 4th St., in Ottumwa.

Washington County Auditor's Office, located on the first floor of the Washington County Courthouse, 222 W. Main St., in Washington.

A satellite voting station will be available Friday, October 25 from 2-8 p.m. at the Fairfield High School auditorium. This is available to all voters who reside in Jefferson County. A valid ID is needed in order to vote. Voter registration forms will also be available at this station.

The Jefferson County Auditor's Office will also be open for special voting hours on Saturday, November 2 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
